EVALUTION OF PHYTOCONSTITUENTS OF ACORUS CALAMUS BY FTIR AND UV-VIS SPECTROSCOPIC ANALYSIS
Spectroscopic techniques can be employed for qualitative and quantitative analysis of plants extract. In the present work we deal with the nature of the visible absorption and fluorescence spectra of methanolic leaves extract of Acorus Calamus medicinal plant. Acorus Calamus is a plant; rich in phytocontituents as a potential source of compounds possessing beneficial biological activities therefore the present study focus on identify of such phytocontituents. The present investigation was undertaken to appraise the FTIR analysis and UV-VIS analysis of Acorus Calamus medicinal plant showed that the presence of phenolic compound and flavonoids. As the result UV-VIS profile showed the peaks at 304.00nm and 237.00nm for flavonoid and FTIR spectra showed the peak at 3363.97 cm-1 for OH group.
