A NEW TRITERPENE FROM MADHUCA LONGIFOLIA L. LEAVES
A new pentacyclic triterpene, derivative of madhucic acid was isolated from the leaves of Madhuca longifolia L. and the structure of new compound was elucidated to be10- (carboxyoxy)-1, 2, 2,6a, 9, 9-hexamethyldocosahydropicene-4acarboxylic acid on the basis of spectral data.
