This review is focused on following plants Saussurea lappa, Mimosa pudica L., Xylocarpus moluccensis, Nardostachys jatamansi, Indigofera tinctoria, Glycyrrhiza glabra , Balanites roxburghii ,Newbouldia lae vis, Rauvolfia vomitoria, Crocus sativus L. , Cassia sophera Linn., Croton zambesicus, Tagetes erecta Linn, Myristica fragrans. The report could be a better target for the development of alternatives to synthetic antiepileptic drugs
