  ABSTRACT

INTERACTION BETWEEN RHIZOSPHERE MICROORGANISM, SOIL AMENDMENTS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON PERCENTGERMINATION AND PLANT POPULATION OF GROUNDNUT (ARACHIS HYPOGAEA L.)

The invitro (field) and in vivo (lab) experiments was conducted at KVK Reddypalli and department of microbiology, SKU Anantapur, the in vitro and in vivo results obtained in the rabi indicated that the rhizosphere microorganisms increased from a day before sowing to harvest with the application of soil amendments, two types of bacterial colonies was observed ie, milky white (B-1), serrated margin colonies (B-2), at the time of harvest (105 days) bacteria-1 (27.10X10-6) per gram of soil, which was significantly superior to bacteria-2 (21.6X10-6). Quantitative studies on the rhizosphere microcoflora of groundnut (TMV-2) variety showed that the microflora increased from a day before sowing to 105 days, after harvesting the colonies of Trichoderma (6.9) species were high in rhizosphere of red soil followed by Aspergillus flavus 5.23, Aspergillus niger 4.73, Pencillium species 3.13, Fusarium 2.27, Rhizopus 2.10, Alternaria sp 1.51, Drechslera sp, Curvularia sp respectively, by keeping soil amendments that are NPK organic (neemcake), inorganic(gypsum) bio(pseudomonas fluorescens) and chemical (mancozeb) and their effect on percentage germination and plant population of groundnut variety (TMV-2)was studied the result obtained indicated that more seed germination was observed in mancozeb 90 %, combined application on pseudomonas fluorescens + gypsum 90%, combined application of gypsum + mancozeb 90%, combined application of pseudomonas fluorescens + mancozeb 90 % and combined application of neemcake + mancozeb 89% treatments were superior over all other treatments , plant population at harvest was recorded, among the treatments , more number of plants were recorded in combined application neemcake, pseudomonas fluroescens + gypsum + mancozeb treatment 100 %, which was significantly superior to all other treatments except combined application of gypsum +mancozeb 99% and combine application of neemcake + gypsum 93 %, gypsum alone 91 %, pseudomonas fluroescens (90) alone and combined application of neemcake + pseudomonas fluroescens (85)
