  ABSTRACT

UV-SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF METOPROLOL AND AMLODIPINE IN BULK AND THEIR FORMULATION

A simple, validated, accurate, economic and reproducible UV-Spectrophotometric method has been developed for the Simultaneous Estimation of Metoprolol succinate (MET) and Amlodipine (AML) in both bulk and tablet formulation. Metoprolol and Amlodipine in combined tablet formulation were estimated by using the multicomponent mode at 223 nm for MET and 240nm for AML in their solution in distilled water. The Beer’s law obeyed the concentration range of 10-90 µg/ml for MET and 1-60 µg/ml for AML. Mean recovery of 99.78% for MET and 99.82% for AML respectively signifies the accuracy of the method. This method can be used for the routine simultaneous estimation of MET and AML in industries and other analytical laboratories.
