  ABSTRACT

EFFECT OF DIETARY SUPPLEMENTATION OF TULSI (OCIMUM SANCTUM) LEAF POWDER ON HEMATOLOGY AND SERUM BIOCHEMISTRY OF BROILER CHICKS

The research study was undertaken to investigate the effect of different schedules of administration of Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) leaf powder on hematology and serum biochemistry of broilers chicks. A total of 72 (Arbor-Acres) day old chicks were used in this study. Four levels of a Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) leaf powder at the rate of 0.00%, 0.25%, 0.50%, and 1% were incorporated into the basal diet for six weeks. Feeding period for all groups was lasted for 42 days. Relevant data was recorded throughout the experiment till the termination of experiment. Significant increase in hemoglobin concentration, and total leukocyte count (TLC) was observed in Treatment T4. Significant decreased total cholesterol and VLDL was observed in Treatment T4. It is concluded that schedule on the basis receiving infusion three days in a week is more potent than other schedule of research study
