  ABSTRACT

ALL COLDS ARE NOT FLU

Acute upper respiratory tract infections are one of the most common diseases in general medical practice, with incidence in adults being around 2-5 episodes each year and in children, incidence is upto 7-10 per year. With the current swine flu pandemic sweeping across the world, every single episode of ‘Cold’ may elicit alarm in the general population as well as increase the burden on health care workers. Hence it is important to identify which of these conditions are Flu and which are not.
