VALIDATION OF RAPID AND SENSITIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF GABAPENTIN IN TABLET DOSAGE FORMS
This paper describes the analytical method suitable for validation of Gabapentin by UV Spectrophotometric method. The method utilized UV spectroscopy (Labindia, UV 3000+).The solvent system was consists of Methanol and Distilled water (1:1) at wave length (λmax) 240 nm. Validation experiments were performed to demonstrate System suitability, Specificity, Precision, Linearity, Accuracy interday assay, intraday assay, LOD and LOQ. The method was linear over the concentration range of 1-9μg/ml. The method was showed good recoveries (99.94- 100.06%) and the recovery studies were carried out by adding different amounts (80%, 100% & 120%) of bulk samples of Gabapentin. The Proposed method was simple, sensitive and reliable with good Precision, Accuracy, and Reproducible and can be used for the rapid determination of Gabapentin. Hence this method can be used for routine determination of Gabapentin in bulk and their pharmaceutical dosage forms.
