ANTIPYRETIC ACTIVITY OF TERMINALIA CATAPPA (LINN) GUM IN PYREXIA INDUCED ALBINO RATS
The objective of the present work was to study the antipyretic potential of Terminalia catappa Linn gum which belongs to family Combretaceae. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of polysaccharides. Terminalia catappa gum (TCG) is evaluated for antipyretic activity using Brewer’s yeast method in Wistar strain albino rats showed a significant antipyretic effect in yeast provoked pyrexia in experimental rats when compared with the standard drug (paracetamol) 150mg/kg
