COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PROTEIN PATTERNS IN ERI SILKWORM SAMIA CYNTHIA RICINI THROUGH SDS-PAGE
The present study is aimed to analyze the comparative study of protein patterns in various tissues like haemolymph, silk gland, and midgut at the fifth instar larval stage of Eri silkworm qualitatively. The patterns of protein bands observed in tissues i.e. silk gland, haemolymph and midgut of eri silk worm using 7.5% of Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate poly Acryl amide Gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) indicated a distinct pattern of seven protein bands and some additional bands with poor resolution observed in silk gland. Whereas four protein bands in midgut and three protein bands and some additional bands with poor resolution observed in the haemolymph. The patterns indicated that the silk gland has higher number of protein bands compare to the haemolymph and midgut. The electrophoretogram revealed that all the three tissues of the protein patterns of eri silkworm showed homology in protein bands with minor variations.
