  ABSTRACT

DESIGN AND OPTIMIZATION OF PROCESS AND PRODUCT VARIABLE OF SOLID LIPID NANOPARTICLE CONTAINING KETOCONAZOLE BY COLD HOMOGENIZATION TECHNIQUE

The main objective of this work is to design and optimize ketoconazole solid lipid nanoparticles to enhance the solubility and permeability of ketoconazole and to characterize the solid lipid nanoparticle by particle size, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency, polydispersibility index (PDI), and in vitro drug release. The SLN were prepared by cold homogenization process followed by ultrasonication method. Optimization is the technique used to formulate a precise dosage form. In this research homogenization time, sonication time are act as experimental or process variables and concentration of lipid act as product variable. The particle size, zeta potential and PDI were analyzed by Malvern zeta sizer and the results are under desired range for all the formulation. From the formulation based upon the above parameter optimized formulation was selected and carried for further evaluation studies like drug content, encapsulation efficiency and invitro drug release studies
