A STUDY ON PREVALENCE OF DIABETIC FOOT ULCER AMONG KNOWN TYPE 2 DIABETIC PATIENTS OF AGE GROUP ≥ 30 YEARS IN URBAN POPULATION CHIDAMBARAM
Diabetic foot ulcers have deleterious effect on the quality of life of affected individuals and it pose a great demand on the health care system in terms of manpower and cost. To find out the prevalence of diabetic foot ulcer among known type 2 diabetic patients of age group above 30 years. To correlate diabetic foot ulcer with select demographic variables. A Descriptive cross sectional study was conducted to find out the prevalence of diabetic foot ulcer among known type 2 diabetic patients of age group above 30 years in urban population Chidambaram. 7.1% of the known diabetic patients we re found to be having diabetic foot ulcer, with a positive correlation of diabetic foot ulcer and duration of diabetes mellitus. Diabetic foot ulce r increases as the duration of diabetes mellitus increases
