Cefotaxime (52%) was most common antibiotic prescribed and parentral route (87.33%) was the most preferred route. Most of the patients were classified as Controlled (54.67%), on the basis of therapeutic outcome. So there should be a combined effort from all the healthcare professionals to diversify the prescribing pattern of antibiotics to different classes, ideally by formulating prescribing guidelines, to make the therapy more effective and for the ultimate goal of welfare of the patients.
