DESIGN AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SOLID DISPERSION OF ETORICOXIB USING VARIOUS GRADES OF POLOXAMER
In solid dispersions dosage forms (E.g., tablets, capsules) Drug disintegrate and dissolve in gastric fluids to release dose instantly, which are mostly in used drug delivery systems (DDS). The main theme behind this research work was to prepare Etoricoxib (ECB) SDs with Poloxamers (Poloxamer 108, Poloxamer 188, Poloxamer 237, Poloxamer 338, and Poloxamer 407) and to find the best among them. ECB was white powder showing a piercing melting point, solubility <0.3µg/ml and a Calibration curve are linear. Results of DSC thermograms and FTIR spectra of ECB with SDs compatibilities in the blend were satisfactory. The SDs of ECB was prepared by microwave fusion technique and compressed into tablets by rotary tablet compression machine, which shows the uniformity of weight, thickness, hardness (>4Kg/cm2), friability <1%. The percentage of drug and yield content was >95%. The in vitro release data revealed that ECB SDs with 1:6 ratio of ECB and Poloxamer, i.e., formulations EP108-4, EP188-4, EP237-4, EP338-4 and EP407-4 showed the rapid and higher dissolution of ECB when matched to ECB pure drug. ECB SDs with Poloxamer-188 gave good physicochemical properties, solubility by 3.84 times profile and release
